Was there any craft or art medium you wanted to try, but didn’t want the expense of buying all the supplies? CCAE’s Open Studio gives you the opportunity to explore your creative curiosity! Members and non-members can take advantage of our open studio in both art and music. If you are looking for a space to work on your artistic endeavors or need a space to practice music, we have affordable options for you to choose from. Spring Crafts With Miss Betty
Time: Wednesdays from 4 - 5:50 pm


Ages 7 and up: Come, Discover, Explore, and Create! Have fun creating a different craft each week to take home to show off to your family. A variety of techniques will be taught and explored.

Jewelry Making
Time: 1 - 3 pm on March 30, 2019


Bring 4 strands of your favorite beads to this workshop and learn beading techniques to create your one of a kind necklace, bracelet, and earring set. All other materials will be provided to finish off your one of a kind creations.




STEAMy Sculpture
Time: 9 am - 12 pm on Saturday, April 6, 2019
Cost: $20 (breakfast included)
ACT 48 credits


In this hands-on visual arts workshop, educators will engage with 3 - D paper sculpture in order to explore the inherent S T E M connections. Working with a variety of paper types and simple tools, participants will go through the design/engineering process in order to transform flat paper into 3-D sculptures. Additionally, they will explore how to create authentic arts integration lesson plans, consider how to overcome barriers to bringing the arts into their classroom, and walk away with specific arts-based strategies and tools they can immediately implement into their own teaching practice.



Adult Crayon Batik
Time: 1 - 3 pm on May 4, 11, 2019


Crayons aren't just for children anymore. In this class, crayons will be transformed into high art! You will learn the ancient art of wax resist and the dye process to create an exquisite one-of-a-kind fabric piece. Turn it into wearable art, a wall hanging, a quilt, or anything your imagination can create. Bring a sketch or reference picture to class. All materials are included.




Fun With Fibers
Time: 9 am - 12 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2019

Cost: $20 (breakfast included)

ACT 48 credits


In this hands-on visual arts workshop, educators will learn the basics of 3-D needle felting, including color blending, shape creation, and how to add simple details to a preformed shape. In addition to developing skills in sequential directions, activities in this class will demonstrate to educators how to provoke creative risk-taking, foster innovative thinking, and develop resiliency in a safe and supportive manner for learners of all ages. Participants will leave the workshop with resources for fiber arts, sample lesson plans, and sample assessment tools that can be adapted to a variety of learning environments.
